Throughout the pandemic, Vic Mix has continued to take action in managing risk of spreading the COVID virus. Our COVIDsafe plan has constantly evolved to keep: our employees; our Customers; and the general public, safe.
Masks, testing, temperature checks, strict hygiene, hand sanitizers, closed lunch rooms, social distancing, additional cleaning, QR codes, authorized permits, reduced staff in offices, staff working from home, actively supporting vaccinations, and responding to all other emerging government restrictions, mandates and guidelines have contributed to the safest operation we are capable of running. We are far from perfect, but we have tried very hard to keep our business working safely.
However, all of this is not enough to keep our doors open now. We must CLOSE effective 5pm Thursday 23rd September 2021.
The Shutdown of construction sites in Victoria has dried up demand for concrete and it is no longer sustainable for Vic Mix to remain open on the possibility that a Customer may require emergency supply of concrete in order to make their construction site safe.
Consequently, Vic Mix is forced to 'pause' its operations for the foreseeable future and until construction sites are allowed to reopen. At this time, we expect this to be the 5th October 2021.
On a positive note, Vic Mix has almost completed collection of Vaccination Status of all its front line employees and we will be ready to supply construction sites with concrete delivered by 'Vaccination Status compliant' Drivers when the industry is allowed to reopen.
In the meantime, Vic Mix will maintain a small group (of Vaccinated) employees on standby. This group of Drivers & Plant Staff will be able to respond to emergency requests for concrete, with some notice. If it is a genuine emergency, you can call 03 87923114 for assistance.
